January 31 NYCThis last weekend some friends were visiting and we all decided to go on a road trip to New York City for the weekend. So, we drove for over 13 hours all the way from Chicago, and it was exhasting! But we did have fun walking around in Manhattan. The sad part is.... diet went kaput. It is unfortunate that by throwing the towel for a couple of days you can ruin a weeks worth of work... well besides us not eating diet food, we aren't sure what happened, unless walking doesn't count as exercise. Anyway, to make a long storey short.... second week in a row without any weight loss ! Life is so unfair sometimes.... January 23 Dissapointing results but going onIt was dissapointing to not have lost any weight this week (well, Cynthia did lose 1 pound but... )
Anyway, it was disappointing, but not a surprise. As we mentioned in the previous post, we didn't have time to exercise last week and this week is kind of going the same. We both have been working late hours and it's just not helping our cause. Hopefully the workload will go down soon.
The good thing is, we have been eating well and it shows in our moods, even our skin. Some bumps on Cynthia's arms are disappearing, and we can guess it's the better food choices that are doing the trick. Also, Cynthia's diabetes is bettter controlled than ever, although on sunday she had some steamed rice and next day she was sick all day. Anyway, our diet consists mainly of lean protein and lots of veggies. We drink diet sodas ocasionally but mostly water. Then there are these low calorie popsicles that are sugar free and help tame our sweet tooth. We are thankful that we haven't gained any weight and are positive that despite the results from this week, we will do better the next weigh-in.
Hope everyone's week was great! Cheers... January 21 No excercise this past week! This past week we had no time whatsoever to work out. We did however eat well, including tons of salad and lean protein (chicken and steak). I'm having a hard time with fish, I can't stand it very much, but I do eat it ocasionally because it should be part of a healthy diet. Anyways, weighing in again tomorrow, plus watching the show. And we'll keep on going! January 14 BIGGEST LOSER TOUR - GURNEE MILLS (CHICAGO)Today I want to comment about our visit to the Biggest Loser On Tour studio this past Saturday January 12. We got to meet Amy and Marty from Season 3 and Kae from Season 4.
We arrived later than we had originally planned, but it was OK because there were not that many people any more as I imagine there might have been earlier. WHen we got there the Biggest Loser staff greeted us and invited us to fill in the survey for the daily Zune givaway. In return, we got a nice sports bottle with the Biggest Loser logo on it
Right were Kae, Amy and Marty were at, people were in line to get an autographed copy of the Biggest Loser Fitness book. THey were also doing interviews for TV, so get ready to check it out next episode! I'm sorry to say that when we finally got in line for the book signing, the girl in charge said they had run out of books... but we asked to take pictures at least, and she agreed. Amy, Marty and Kae were all awesome! Besides looking great after losing all that weight, they were really friendly.
Amy told us the secret for losing is eating small, many times a day. So there you have it! If you haven't bought the Biggest Loser Fitness book yet, it gives you the type of workout the contestants do while on campus. If anyone is familiar with circuit training, you already know what it is, otherwise, it is something where you move from one type of excercise to another very quickly to keep your heart going. I am not fitness expert, so please don't take my word for it. Please talk to your personal trainer or someone from a reputable gym, or fitness expert who will tell you more about this. I plan on doing it too. I actually talked to one of the fitness experts on site. He said it was important to get professional help to avoid injury, especially when weight training.
Anyway, it was a good experience. Kae is really a sweek woman, she listens to you and feels your pain. If the tour is heading to your city, GO!
You can check out some of the photos at the pictures section of this page.
Have a great week! January 10 Going to the gymYesterday we almost didn’t make it to the gym. We were exhausted! I think it may be because we are eating way less than before and exercising so our bodies freaked out or something. Anyway, after watching TV for a while in the evening, we decided we should go anyways. I’m glad we did! Today we both feel better. So hopefully going today again. Our water intake is also going good, we are drinking minimum 64 ounces of water each a day. Cynthia's not a big water drinker, so it's harder. For Julio, it's no problem. I hope you are doing great, whoever you are! |
